iPod touch includes VoiceOver screen reader but only on 32GB and 64GB models

Video: iPod Touch 3G Voice Over Overview (Sep 2009).

iPod touch includes a screen reader and other innovative accessibility features that make it easier to use for those with impaired vision. The speaking rate is adjustable so you can set it to a speed that best suits your listening ability. VoiceOver is built into iPod touch 32GB and 64GB (Fall 2009). There’s nothing extra to purchase or install.

You can access VoiceOver through the menu: Settings -> Accessibility -> VoiceOver. Unfortunately, there is no such feature on the 8GB iPod touch.
