Facebook seems to be the social network of choice for friends and family. Google Buzz is more suitable for work activity, at least in my case. Both can get better, of course.
Twitter has the "influencers" and celebrities at the moment, mostly because the celebrities like the push-only communication and there is no obligation to engage or moderate comments.
